Ashley

Ashley was born and raised in New Hampshire. She graduated from Colby-Sawyer College in 2022 with Cum Laude Honors in biology with minors in chemistry and studio art. She is continuing her education at SNHU for her Masters in Public Health and recently applied to vet school.

Ashley has always had a love of animals, especially dogs. Her passion for veterinarian medicine grew from her love of dogs and the need to help them stay healthy and happy. Her goal in veterinarian medicine is to work towards her DVM and become a part of the American College of Theriogenologists (reproduction specialist) and the American College of Veterinary Preventive Medicine.

Outside of work, Ashley enjoys skiing. She was a Division I ski racer and has been skiing since she was three. Ashley is also a silver smith and has a small business, Ashley Rose Designs. She lives with her mom, dad, and three Australian Shepherds, Hunter, Tala, and Josie. She hopes to start a breeding program with her youngest Aussie, Josie, in the spring of 2023.

Erika

Erika is from Goffstown, NH. While her dream has always been to work with animals, it was not until she brought her rooster Rudy to Dr. Dutton when she was young that her passion for veterinary care and animal rehabilitation took off. She graduated from Becker College in the Spring of 2021 with an Associate’s Degree in Veterinary Technology and will be taking her veterinary technician certification exam this winter. She is beyond happy to be a part of the team that took such great care of Rudy at the same animal hospital that started it all.

Dr. John Labbe

We are happy to welcome our newest veterinarian, Dr. Labbe.

A New England native, Dr. Labbe headed west first to St. Lawrence University in New York for a Bachelor’s degree in Biology, and then on to the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine where he graduated in 2008. While in school, he volunteered for a feline rescue and travelled with the Rural Area Veterinary Service to perform spays and neuters. He practiced small animal medicine in Minnesota for ten years before he and his wife returned to his wife’s home state of New Hampshire.

In 2019, Dr. Labbe and his wife built a home in Weare where they started to hear from neighbors how much they enjoyed bringing their pets to Weare Animal Hospital. Dr. Labbe realized that it is important to him to work in the same community in which he lives, caring for the pets that live around him.

He is especially interested in dentistry, dermatology, internal medicine, and surgery, and is happy here where he sees a variety of medical concerns and performs surgical procedures daily. He is excited to learn about all the different species from our knowledgeable staff. He is a member of the AVMA and the NH VMA.

Joining his family is Isis, a rescue cat. In his free time you can find Dr. Labbe working on home improvement projects and working in their yard.

Lleu

Lleu joined the Weare Animal Hospital team in February of 2021, having previously been a client at the counterpart Hopkinton Animal Hospital.  After beginning his career in veterinary medicine at a general canine and feline practice, Lleu decided to pursue the field of exotic veterinary care, and brings with him three years of experience in preventive medicine and anesthetic monitoring.

Lleu is currently enrolled in Ashworth College’s Veterinary Technology Program, and upon completion of his Associate’s Degree, will go on to pass the VTNE in order to become a Certified Veterinary Technician.  Afterwards, he plans to pursue a falconry permit and wildlife rehabilitation license.

Lleu has always wanted to work in veterinary medicine, which most find unsurprising as he grew up among show dogs, police K9s, and many species of pocket pets.  He is passionate about animal husbandry and enrichment, dog sports, and pet training – to the extent that his guinea pig, Quito, can perform several tricks!  In his free time, Lleu enjoys photography, art, music, writing, reading, longboarding, martial arts, camping, and hiking.  He also frequently pupsits his friend’s wooly-coated husky, Nanook, and loves bringing her along during his countless explorations of New England.
