Our Team

Veterinarian and Owner

Dr. Dutton founded the Weare Animal Hospital in 1992 to practice the type of medicine he wanted; personal, caring and at a high level of medical expertise. To that end, he has invested in the Staff and expanded each year so the Hospital now offers many services that used to be available only at referral centers or University hospitals. He also decided to obtain the coveted American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) Hospital certification for the Hospital. There are only 23 AAHA accredited hospitals in New Hampshire.

Practicing what he preaches, Dr. Dutton has concentrated on a few areas of expertise and excelled. He is one of the few veterinary specialists boarded in more than one specialty, and the only veterinary specialist in the world who has successfully proven excellence in four specialty categories. He is quadrupled boarded: Canine and Feline Practice, Avian Practice, Exotic Companion Mammal Practice, and Reptile and Amphibian Practice.

Since 1992, Dr. Dutton has served in a variety of community volunteer positions including the Weare Lions Club, Animal Rescue League of New Hampshire, Weare Animal Guardians, providing free care for the Concord and Massabesic Audubon Societies, Wings of the Dawn wildlife rehabilitation, Cub Scout Pack 24 and Boy Scout Troop 24. He is also called on frequently to aid NH Fish and Game when they receive an injured animal.

Dr. Dutton is active in the community and lives in Weare with his wife and two children. He enjoys downhill skiing with his family, gardening, swimming, jogging, and M&M’s. He is owned by two golden retrievers Carly and Emmie, a yellow Labrador Adie, and a cat named The Professor. Always working to improve the health of pets, he has enrolled his golden Carly in the Morris Animal Foundation’s Golden Retriever Lifetime Study, a landmark study of 3,000 golden retrievers designed to understand the high incidence of cancer in golden retrievers.

He is the real Captain of the ship and quite proud of his crew.

She has had an interest in animals since a young age and her lifelong career goal has always been to become a veterinarian. While in veterinary school, she interned for several weeks at Weare Animal Hospital where she immediately fell in love with everyone (staff, clients, and pets) and the high standard of veterinary medicine practiced.

She is very passionate about being involved in her community and has volunteered several hours at various animal shelters and animal rescue organizations. While in veterinary school, she worked at Auburn University’s Small Animal Emergency Hospital and gained crucial experience. She also highly values continuing education and research which has led her to participate in several research projects involving red tailed hawks.

While she loves cats and dogs, her passion also extends to the medicine and surgery of all companion animals and wildlife including exotic mammals, reptiles, amphibians, fish, and birds. She has a special interest in ferret medicine and surgery. In addition, she especially enjoys surgery and ultrasonography in various species and is passionate about furthering her knowledge and skills in these areas.

She resides in Hillsboro with her wife and two children along with their four dogs, four cats, and a ferret. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and pets as well as reading, traveling, and learning new hobbies or skills.

Dr. Elizabeth A. Sullivan joins us as an experienced Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. A native of NY, growing up in NH, she developed an interest in companion animals at a very young age when she witnessed the emotional connection her autistic brother made with her family’s pet cats. Dr. Sullivan is a 2003 graduate of the Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine. Her interests and passions in veterinary medicine have included preventive medicine, internal medicine, dermatology, oncology, and senior and end of life care, including house call services. She believes in a comprehensive, preventive, and balanced approach to patient care. Dr. Sullivan appreciates that listening to her clients, and understanding the patient’s history, is key to a successful diagnosis. Dr. Sullivan has served on the board of the Salem Rescue League and Animal Rescue Veterinary Services.

For the last few years, Dr. Sullivan has resided in Manchester, NH with her artist husband, young daughter and terrier mix Matilda. She is a talented choral singer and has been a member of multiple community choirs throughout NH. Dr. Sullivan enjoys cooking, reading and being outdoors.

We are happy to welcome our newest veterinarian, Dr. Labbe.

A New England native, Dr. Labbe headed west first to St. Lawrence University in New York for a Bachelor’s degree in Biology, and then on to the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine where he graduated in 2008. While in school, he volunteered for a feline rescue and travelled with the Rural Area Veterinary Service to perform spays and neuters. He practiced small animal medicine in Minnesota for ten years before he and his wife returned to his wife’s home state of New Hampshire.

In 2019, Dr. Labbe and his wife built a home in Weare where they started to hear from neighbors how much they enjoyed bringing their pets to Weare Animal Hospital. Dr. Labbe realized that it is important to him to work in the same community in which he lives, caring for the pets that live around him.

He is especially interested in dentistry, dermatology, internal medicine, and surgery, and is happy here where he sees a variety of medical concerns and performs surgical procedures daily. He is excited to learn about all the different species from our knowledgeable staff. He is a member of the AVMA and the NH VMA.

Joining his family is Isis, a rescue cat. In his free time you can find Dr. Labbe working on home improvement projects and working in their yard.

She is a Certified Veterinary Technician, enjoying the challenges and rewards of her career.

Audra lives for a good foreign body surgery or a caesarean section. She thrives under the pressures of emergency situations. Always on the ball, she is basically the Captain of the Ship or, at the very least, the First Mate.

While my full-time job is protecting the citizens of New Hampshire from food-borne illness by performing Molecular Diagnostics at the NH Public Health Laboratory, my greater passion is caring for animals. I grew up with household dogs, cats, birds and pocket pets as well as assisted my aunt with wildlife rehabilitation. Animals have always played an important part of my life and I couldn’t imagine life without them.

I currently share my home with my daughter, a German shepherd (appropriately) named Havok, a bonkers pit bull named Bane, two rescued kitties named Oscar and Gizmo, a chinchilla named Willie, a sugar glider named Izzy and a bearded dragon named Sparky.

In my free time I enjoy camping, hiking, the lake, the beach, training at a local gym and being “arts and crafty.”
